It is almost three weeks since the constitutional outreach team started gathering views from Zimbabweans, who are eager to have a new constitution in order to break free from the more than 30 years of Zanu (PF) bondage. But this is proving to be quite a challenge as most people are being muzzled. In fact, if the levels of intimidation and violence we are seeing with the constitution-making process are anything to go by, there is no doubt that the next election may be just as bloody as the 2008 one - or worse. |

Rooftop Promotions continues to strengthen its synergies with relevant bodies in the cultural industry as a way of strengthening the theatre industry in this turnaround time of our nation. Our current collaboration with the Zimbabwe International Book Fair, to be held in Harare from the 28th to the 31st of July 2010, which will see us showcasing theatre as a way of breathing text to life is another milestone in our focus to strengthen our synergies with relevant institutions. |

Crucial Constituencies left out in COPAC Outreaches |

Having went on a tour of Mutare, Masvingo, Midlands and Bulawayo provinces from 29 June to 12 July 2010, Rooftop Promotions is encouraging COPAC to revisit its outreach strategies as it takes a break to allow for the opening of parliament if it is to achieve its goal to have a people driven new charter for the country. We were in Manicaland, Masvingo and Midlands provinces when COPAC outreaches were covering those provinces and observed that many people are being left out because of ignorance or inconvenience. |

“Waiting for Constitution” Increases Footprint through Audio and Video Distribution |

Rooftop Promotions has increased the footprint of Waiting for Constitution by way of audio visuals which will be spread all over Zimbabwe in the form of DVDs, audio CDs and cassettes as the play is on national tour which has covered Harare Province, Mashonaland East, Mashonaland Central, Manicaland and Masvingo and we are currently in Midlands this week then move on to Bulawayo and Matabeleland North and South Provinces from the end of the week. |
