[ZimboJam.com] The Victoria Falls International Jazz Festival which was scheduled to be held at the Elephant Hills Hotel on December 24 and 25 this year has been cancelled due to lack of sponsorship and supposedly low occupancy rates at the venue of the event.

The festival, which failed to take off last year due to similar reasons, will now be renamed to The Victoria Falls International Arts Festival and will from next year be moved from the Christmas slot to June.

Daves Guzha, the founder of Rooftop Promotions the company that organises the event, said they had decided to cancel the annual show because it did not make economic sense to hold it.

31 year old Moreira Chonguica is a celebrated Cape Town based musician, originally from Mozambique. Moreira located to Cape Town to further his music studies where he graduated from the University of Cape Town's South African College of Music with a degree in jazz performance and an honours degree in Ethnomusicology (cum laude) in 2000.
